Trader Joe's Aims For Spring Opening In Cherry Hill

Trader Joe's confirmed it is aiming to open a store in Cherry Hill this spring, although no exact date has been set yet.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Trader Joe’s is officially coming to Cherry Hill, and the current timeline has the popular store set to open in the spring.

“Trader Joe’s is planning to open a store in Cherry Hill, hopefully this spring,” a spokesperson told Patch Monday morning. “However that time-frame is what we’re aiming for. There’s no exact opening date at this time.”

The confirmation comes nearly two years after the Cherry Hill Planning Board approved plans for 14,770 square foot retail building to Towne Place at Garden State Park. At that time, Trader Joe’s didn’t confirm that it would be building a store there.

The California-based company has a location in nearby Marlton, on Route 73. The two locations would be less than 10 miles from each other. The Cherry Hill and Marlton stores are currently the only one of Trader Joe's 17 New Jersey locations in South Jersey, according to the retail giant's website.

Trader Joe's sells a variety of healthy foods, including "alternative" food items. It also sells bread, cereal, eggs, dairy, coffee, and produce as any other grocery store does, but many of its products are sold under its own brand name. Its first location opened in Pasadena, California, in 1967, and there are now over 480 locations nationwide. For more, visit traderjoes.com.
