Workshop to help educators support students with social, emotional and behavioral disabilities

Willingboro, NJ – The Training Institute at Garfield Park Academy, a private school serving students with learning, social, and emotional disabilities, will host a free workshop for educators entitled: Trauma-Informed Care In Schools. The 3-hour program will be presented by Robin Glasco Jones, MHS, CFLE, and will take place on Friday, March 18, 2016. The program is designed to empower educators with information and strategies to employ when teaching trauma-impacted students. Lunch will follow.

“Students affected by trauma may sometimes come to school with unique responses to the classroom environment,” said Dr. Steven Morse, Superintendent of Garfield Park Academy. “This workshop will help participants recognize and respond to trauma using brain-based techniques.”
