Turkey Giveaways Coming Up At 2 Virtua Health Locations In South Jersey
Virtua Health is giving away 700 free turkeys and produce to families at their Willingboro and Camden locations on the week of Thanksgiving.
SOUTH JERSEY — The cost of making Thanksgiving dinner can be expensive, and Virtua Health is giving away frozen turkeys and fresh produce to local families who may not be able to afford them.
The not-for-profit health system will hold a drive-thru giveaway at Virtua Willingboro Hospital on Nov. 21, and a walk-up event at Virtua Camden on Nov. 22. Virtua said it is giving away 350 turkeys at each location while supplies last.
Each person or family will receive a 12- to 14-pound frozen turkey, celery, onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, and Idaho potatoes, the health system said in a news release.

"Virtua aims to help people be well, get well, and stay well – and eating well is an essential component of that mission," the health system said.
Virtua senior leaders and other staff will work as volunteers at both events. Everyone is asked to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
