West, Camden Catholic Wrestling in Good Shape in Power Points

Cherry Hill West and Camden Catholic are each in good shape after the first release of wrestling power point rankings, while Cherry Hill East has some ground to make up if the Cougars are to make the playoffs.

West opened in fourth place in South Jersey, Group 3, with a 4-1 record to start the season and 26.8 power points, putting the Lions more than a point ahead of fifth-place Lacey and just over half a point behind Moorestown.

Camden Catholic, which had just one dual meet win on the books at the first release, sits tied for first place with Holy Cross in South Jersey, Non-Public B. Both teams have 27 power points, with a huge gulf between them and the rest of the field—third-place Gloucester Catholic has just 17.25.

East, meanwhile, has a lot of ground to make up. While the Cougars had four wins at the time and were above .500, just 20.86 power points leaves East well off the Group 4 pace, which is led by perennial powers like Toms River North and Cherokee.
