West, East Football Head to Consolation Round

The Lions will play another home game Friday night, while East is on the road Saturday.

Cherry Hill East and West will each get one more shot on the gridiron before their annual clash for the Boot on Thanksgiving Eve next week.

The Lions have drawn Mainland at home in a consolation game Friday night, while the Cougars will hit the road for Rancocas Valley Saturday in their consolation.

Both teams had the opportunity to decline the game this year, which are a week later than usual, thanks a ruling from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.

The consolation games will come just days before the two teams duke it out in the annual Thanksgiving rivalry game, where East snapped West’s four-year winning streak last season and reclaimed the Al DiBart Memorial Trophy.
