Winter Weather Advisory Issued For South Jersey Counties Thursday AM

The National Weather Service expects slippery road conditions in South Jersey during the Thursday morning commute.

SOUTH JERSEY — A mix of snow and freezing rain is forecast to move into southern New Jersey on Thursday morning, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory.

Camden, Gloucester, Salem, and northwest Burlington counties are under the winter weather advisory from 5 a.m. Thursday until noon, the NWS said on Wednesday. Read more: Winter Weather Advisory Issued In 6 NJ Counties Ahead Of Storm

Weather officials encourage drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling. In the advisory for the central and southwestern portions of NJ, the National Weather Service expects slippery road conditions during the Thursday morning commute.

There may not be any snow accumulation but "up to a few hundredths of an inch of ice could occur," the NWS said.

The mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain could last up to a few hours before shifting to rain from south to north by Thursday afternoon, the agency says.

The advisory includes the municipalities of Pennsville, Glassboro, Camden, Cherry Hill, Moorestown, and Mount Holly.
