200 Club Of Burlington County Awarding $2,500 Scholarships In 9/11 Essay Contest

The scholarships will be awarded Feb. 17, and applications must be received by Jan. 6, 2017.

The 200 Club of Burlington County is seeking applications for four $2,500 law enforcement, fire and EMS scholarships.

The scholarships will be awarded during their annual Scholarship Awards Banquet on Feb. 17, 2017.

To be eligible for a scholarship application, students must be an immediate family member of an active police officer in Burlington County, a county detective, a State Trooper stationed in Burlington County, firefighter or emergency responder.

Applicants will be asked to write an essay answering the following question:

“Discuss how the 9/11 terrorist attacks continue to impact the country today in terms of social, economic and political policy. While policy decisions are certainly impacted by the events of 9/11, did the attacks have a long-term impact on day-to-day life in the United States. If so, how? Are these effects still present today?”

Essays should be no longer than 500 words, and must be received by Jan. 6, 2017.
