5 Candidates To Run For NJ's 3rd District Seat

Incumbent Andy Kim versus Reuven Hendler, Nicholas J. Ferrara, Bob Healey, Ian Smith.

SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June. Five candidates have announced their intention to run for U.S. Representative in New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District, which encompasses parts of Burlington, Monmouth and Mercer Counties.

Incumbent Andy Kim, as well as Reuven Hendler, filed as Democrats. Kim listed a post office box in Marlton on his paperwork, and Hendler listed a street address in Beachwood on his paper work

Nicholas J. Ferrara filed as a Republican and listed a street address in Hamilton on his paperwork. Bob Healey also filed as a Republican and listed a post office box in Edison on his paperwork. Ian A. Smith also filed as a Republic and listed a post office box in Collingswood on his paperwork.

New Jersey's primary election occurs on June 8. The state's general election occurs on Nov. 2. The winner in November will serve a 2-year term.
