Academy Builds Rapport Between Officers, Seniors: Sheriff

The Burlington County Senior Citizens Academy launches March 31.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A program designed to connect senior citizens with police officers and build positive relationships in Burlington County commences at the end of the month.

The first session of this year’s Burlington County Senior Citizens Police Academy begins March 31, Sheriff Anthony Basantis said on Monday.

Classes will run for six consecutive Tuesdays, ending on May 5. The program is free and open to senior citizens throughout the county.

“The Senior Citizens Academy is one of our most popular programs, and I am thrilled to announce the next sessions,” Basantis said. “Seniors who participate not only receive valuable information about county services and interact with our staff, but get a chance to make new friends along the way.”

Classes will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Emergency Training Services Center, 53 Academy Drive in Westampton.
