“The more we looked at it, the more it seemed like the right move,” Brauckmann said. “This is a more effective way of doing it. We can have two separate people who can act as checks and balances.”

Emmons currently holds several other part-time CFO positions in the county, in towns such as Delran and Hainesport—a move that’s popular among municipalities. Because of the size and workload of Cinnaminson, it’s estimated she will devote about 18 hours per week to the township, more or less hours during different times of the year. She will also attend as needed.

“She has a wealth of municipal finance experience and will be a tremendous asset to our community,” Brauckmann said.

Emmons will head up the township’s financial department including payroll and accounts payable. She is also responsible for the municipal operating budget, the and annual financial and debt statements.

Her salary is $25,000 per year with no health or pension benefits. She could not be reached for comment Monday.

Seneski left Cinnaminson in April after three years with the township to accept a position with the state’s Department of Community Affairs. A week later, township committee appointed Dietrich, an accountant from Cinnaminson who is a fire commissioner here, to fill in temporarily. He is being paid $40 per hour, up to 20 hours per week.

Last month, township committee appointed George Haeuber as the interim administrator. Haeuber, Brauckmann and Committeewoman Kathy Fitzpatrick made up the interview committee for the CFO position.

Now that one “critical role,” as Brauckmann puts it, is filled, it’s onto the administrator position. That is slated to be full-time. Brauckmann said interviews would be held in mid-July.

“Hopefully, we have something during our August meeting,” Brauckmann said. “We want that man or woman to be the right person."
