The Democrat resigned as freeholder to take her new position.

Aimee Belgard was approved as a Superior Court judge on Thursday, and sworn in to her new position on Friday, the Burlington County Times reports.

She will supervise the Special Civil Part, which handles landlord-tenant disputes and other small claims, according to the report.

She had to resign as a Burlington County Freeholder. She and fellow Democratic incumbent Joanne Schwartz were defeated by Republicans Ryan Peters and Kate Gibbs in November’s elections.
