Aimee Belgard Speaks About Healthcare, Pay Gap During Burlington County Visit

Cinnaminson voters go to the polls to decide between Belgard and Tom MacArthur for Congress Nov. 4.

Aimee Belgard, the Democratic candidate for the Third Congressional District seat, highlighted endosrements from the Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare during an appearance in Willingboro on Tuesday, the Burlington County Times reports.

She and her Republican opponent Tom MacArthur have both argued against changes to those programs, saying they are earned benefits, and the best way to strengthen both programs is to strengthen the economy.

Belgard also spoke about the need to close the pay gap between men and women and make health care expenses more transparent during her appearance at the Willingboro Senior Center, according to the report.

She reiterated her message that these changes aren’t possible without a change to the partisan atmosphere in Congress.

Belgard and MacArthur are running for the seat soon to be vacated by Jon Runyan in the Nov. 4 election.
