Beer Brewed In Burlington County Among Best In The Nation, Experts Decide
This Burlington County brew won a gold medal at a national competition.

A beer brewed in Burlington County by Spellbound Brewing has been recognized as one of the best in the country at a national beer competition in Denver, Colorado.
The Mount Holly-based brewery claimed a gold medal for its Porter Aged on Palo Santo Wood in the Wood- and Barrel-Aged Beer category. It also won the silver medal in the Wood-Aged category in 2015.
The beer is the brewery’s year-round porter, and the Palo Santo Wood it is aged on unearths the beer’s chocolate flavor. In addition to the chocolate, other flavors present in the beer include vanilla, anise and hints of mint. It changes flavor as it warms.

The Brewers Association's Great American Beer Festival was held Oct. 5 - 7 and featured the best beers from 800 breweries. More than 60,000 people attended the event, and nearly 3,900 beers were included in the competition.
The Porter Aged on Palo Santo Wood was the only New Jersey beer to win a gold medal. Eight and Sand, of Woodbury, won a silver medal for its Bad Hombre in the Chili Beer category. River Horse Brewing Co., o Ewing, won a bronze medal for its Tripel Horse in the Belgian Style Tripel category.
