Bike Path Project Money Awarded To Burlington County
State money is coming to Burlington County to build better bikeways, Governor Phil Murphy's office announced.
State money is coming to Burlington County to build better bike paths, Governor Phil Murphy's office announced.
Murphy's office announced Wednesday that the state is giving 11 Bikeway Grants to advance projects in nine counties, totaling almost $6 million.
The Burlington County project is in Delran Township. The county will receive $1.2 million from the state for Delran Community Park Bike Path improvements.

Each municipality and county may submit one application to the Bikeway Grant Program, which provides $1 million in grants annually "in order to promote bikeways as an alternate mode of transportation that support the State’s efforts to add new miles of dedicated bikeways in New Jersey."
“Investing in bikeways helps promote alternate forms of transportation and reduces our reliance on cars," Murphy said in a news release. “Increased biking and walking are tangible steps we can take to achieve our climate change goals, while encouraging residents to live a healthy lifestyle.”
