Bomb Threat Postpones Graduation At Burlington Co. School: Officials

No explosives were found, but the premises were evacuated before the ceremony was set to begin.

MEDFORD, NJ — A graduation ceremony was postponed after a bomb threat was placed against a Burlington County school, officials said.

Police responded to the reported threat at about 6:15 p.m. Monday against the Burlington County Institute of Technology's Medford Campus. The school and surrounding area were evacuated as law enforcement searched the premises.

No explosives were found. Medford police are investigating the incident.

Some officers were already at the scene for the ceremony, which was scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday. K9 teams from Medford, Burlington City and State Police also responded.

The graduation ceremony was rescheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday.

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused," the district said on social media.

The Burlington County Institute of Technology is a public vocational district.
