Boy On Bike Killed In Crash On Burlington Co. Highway: Police

The biker, 14, was brought to the hospital and died several days later, authorities said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NJ — A teen on a bicycle died after getting hit by a vehicle on the highway in Burlington County, officials said.

Troopers responded to the collision at 6:37 p.m. June 14 on Route 38 West in Southampton. The biker — a 14-year-old boy — sustained serious injuries and was brought to the hospital, said State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan.

He was pronounced dead two days later, Marchan told Patch. No other injuries were reported.

According to the preliminary investigation, the biker was crossing Route 38 and hit a Dodge passenger vehicle that was traveling west, Marchan said.

Police have withheld the identities of everyone involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
