Boys Soccer Team Wins Two Straight/Girls Soccer Team Gets OT Win: The Week in Cinnaminson High School Sports

The Cinnaminson High School boys soccer team bounced back from an opening day loss to win two straight, the girls soccer team produced a thrilling overtime win, and the field hockey team is 3-1, according to results posted on nj.com.

Northern Burlington 2, Cinnaminson 0, Sept. 11: Kyle Adams and Christian Herdt each scored for Northern Burlington in the win. Goalie Kyle Quigley made eight saves in the win. Cinnaminson goalie Mike Deal also made eight saves.

Cinnaminson 2, Pennsauken 1, Sept. 15: Pat McCarthy scored both goals, including the game-winner in overtime. His other goal came in the second half, as did Pennsauken’s goal from Carlos Portillo. Cinnaminson goal Mike Deal made 12 saves.

Cinnaminson 3, Moorestown 0, Sept. 17: Cinnaminson scored all three goals in the second half to pick up the win. Goals came from Dan Kern, Pat McCarthy and Mike Reid. Goalie Mike Deal made nine saves in the win. Moorestown goalie Noah Alfonso also had nine saves.

Girls Soccer

Cinnaminson 2, Northern Burlington 1, OT Sept. 11: Justyne Gutowski had the game-winner in overtime. After a scoreless first half, Fiona Flynn scored for Cinnaminson in the second half. Ty Horne was responsible for Northern Burlington’s goal. Cinnaminson goalie Marisa DiLeo made six saves.

Moorestown 3, Cinnaminson 2, Sept. 17: Moorestown scored twice in the first half and held on for the win. Maggie Brown, Quinn Nicolai and Natalie Youre each scored in the win. Jamie McHugh and Miranda Sackner scored for Cinnaminson, which saw both its goals come in the second half.

Field Hockey

Cinnaminson 3, Holy Cross 2, Sept. 11: Lauren Friedrich made seven saves in goal to guide the Pirates to the opening day victory. Carly Barnes, Nicole Teague and Maura Tumelty all scored for Cinnaminson in the win.

Cinnaminson 2, Riverside 0, Sept. 12: Sarabeth Coyle and Maura Tumelty each scored a goal to help Cinnaminson improve to 2-0. Lauren Friedrich needed to make just one save in goal.

Delran 3, Cinnaminson 0, Sept. 16: Cinnaminson goalie Lauren Friedrich made 11 saves, but it wasn’t enough as the Pirates suffered their first setback of the year.

Cinnaminson 4, Maple Shade 2, Sept. 17: Serefina Kennedy led the way with three goals to help Cinnaminson bounce back from the shutout loss. Maura Tumelty had the other goal, and goalie Lauren Friedrich had five saves.
