Burlington County Developing Plan to Battle Ebola Should it Come to Cinnaminson

The discussion comes after a patient was admitted to a Connecticut hospital with Ebola-like symptoms, the Burlington County Times reports.

Burlington County officials are working with community hospitals, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and law enforcement agencies to fine tune its all hazards response plan to deal specifically with Ebola, the Burlington County Times reports.

The discussion was part of a Health Department meeting on Wednesday following reports that a hospital in Connecticut has admitted a patient with Ebola-like symptoms, according to the report.

A person can contract the virus through broken skin or unprotected mucous membranes in the eyes, nose or mouth if they come in direct contact with an infected person or their contaminated objects. The virus is carried in the blood and body fluids, which include feces, saliva, urine, vomit and semen.
