Burlington County Freeholder Being Considered For Superior Court Judicial Position

Gov. Chris Christie informed the State Supreme Court Secretary of his intention to nominate Aimee Belgard this week.

Outgoing Burlington County Freeholder Aimee Belgard is being considered for a nomination to become a Superior Court judge in New Jersey, the Burlington County Times reports.

Gov. Chris Christie provided written notice that he intends to nominate Belgard, a Democrat, in a letter to the New Jersey Senate secretary, according to the report.

Judicial nominees must appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and be approved by the full chamber.

She graduated from Stockton University and the Widener University School of Law, according to the report.

She and Joanne Schwartz were elected to the Burlington County Freeholder Board in 2012. In November, they were defeated by Republican candidates Ryan Peters and Kate Gibbs.
