Burlington County Freeholder Withdraws From Race With Crohn's Disease

Joe Howarth will serve the final four months of his current term, the Burlington County Times reports.

Burlington County Freeholder Joseph Howarth has withdrawn from the November elections due to his battle with Crohn’s Disease, the Burlington County Times reports.

Howarth was elected to the Freeholder Board in 2011 after serving as a Councilman in Evesham Township. He is in his seventh consecutive year serving the Lenape Regional School District as a Para-professional in Seneca High School’s Special Education Department.

He will serve the remaining four months of his term, according to the report.

The Burlington County Republicans will meet Monday night to name a replacement candidate, according to the report.
