Burlington County Man Charged With Possession of Child Porn, Drugs, Weapons

A Browns Mills man was charged following a search of his house this week.

A Burlington County man has been charged with with possession of child pornography and illegal drugs, along with weapons violations, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Pemberton Township Police Chief David H. Jantas said this week.

Nathan J. McGarvey, 33, of Browns Mills, was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, third-degree unlawful possession of weapons, third-degree possession of an assault weapon, fourth-degree possession of large capacity ammunition magazines and fourth-degree endangering the welfare of children.

Police executed a search warrant at McGarvey’s home on Sept. 10. They confiscated a computer that allegedly contained numerous images and videos of adult men involved in sexual acts with pre-pubescent girls.

Police also seized a 7.69x32mm rifle with a collapsible stock, along with illegal high-capacity ammunition magazines, ammunition and a prescription medicine bottle with the label removed, containing pills suspected of being oxycodone.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit and the Pemberton Township Police Department with assistance from the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Police are not revealing the genesis of the investigation at this time.

McGarvey was released after posting $70,000 bail.
