Burlington County Putting Funding in Place for Landfill Expansion as Project Nears Completion
The county plans to set aside $6 million for expansion project.

The $6 million Burlington County landfill expansion project is on target to be completed by March, and the county took the first steps toward funding it last week, the Burlington County Times reports.
The expansion project adds 10 years to the life of the 123-acre landfill, but it won’t increase the amount of waste that will be accepted at the site, according to the report.
The Burlington County Freeholder approved an ordinance on first reading that calls for the borrowing of $6 million to fill a “wedge” at the border between Florence and Mansfield, with another $3 million for the replacement of equipment at the recycling center in Westampton, according to the report.
