Burlington County Sheriff Senior Citizens Academy Begins Tuesday
Senior citizens will learn to better protect themselves against violence, accidents and consumer fraud.
The Burlington County Sheriff’s Department’s Senior Citizens Police Academy runs for six consecutive Tuesdays, beginning next week, Burlington County Undersheriff Michael Ditzel announced. It will run Sept. 17 through Oct. 22, with a graduation ceremony scheduled for the last day of the academy.
“Our department is proud to once again offer this free program to Burlington County seniors and provide them with the opportunity to gain a wealth of information and knowledge,” Ditzel said.
“Participants will interact with county law enforcement and public safety staff who will teach them how they can better protect themselves from violence, accidents and consumer fraud. All participants will also be provided with a Senior I.D.”

The classes will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Emergency Services Training Center, 53 Academy Drive in Westampton. Those interested in attending should call Sheriff’s Officer Cruz at 609-265-5131 or email xcruz@co.burlington.nj.us. Refreshments will be provided.
