Camden Man Stole About $3,000 From Brooklawn Bank, Prosecutor Says

Phillip Jones stole about $3,000 during the heist, authorities said.

BROOKLAWN, NJ — A Camden man was arrested earlier this week on charges he robbed the Wells Fargo bank along U.S. Route 130 in Brooklawn, the Camden County Prosecutor said.

On March 8, Phillip Jones handed a bank teller a note that demanded the employee give him money and indicated he had a gun, authorities said.

After taking about $3,000 from the bank, Jones took off on foot but was arrested a short time and a short distance away from the bank by the Gloucester City Police Department, the prosecutor said.

Jones was charged with first-degree robbery, arrested, and sent to the Camden County Prison to await a detention hearing in county court, according to authorities.
