Carol Erikson Visits The Evergreens, Speaks About Her Life and Broadcasting Career

The Evergreens in Moorestown recently welcomed Emmy award-winning television personality and journalist Carol Erikson to the community for a special lecture entitled “Connect with Carol Erikson.” Erikson is a respected meteorologist, broadcaster and former CBS 3 reporter, as well as a published author and devoted animal welfare activist. At the event, she spoke to prospective residents of The Evergreens about her life, career and how she became the journalist she is today.

Erikson has been nominated for numerous Emmy Awards for weather anchoring, writing and spot news reporting. She expanded her media career when she published “Not a Used Dog, At All,” a children’s book encouraging adoption of shelter dogs. She began her career in broadcasting at Tucson, Arizona’s KOLD-TV as a meteorologist and reporter and WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas where she served as a news reporter, meteorologist and talk show host before joining CBS 3 in Philadelphia. After leaving CBS 3 earlier this year, Erikson now serves as an anchor and reporter for Calkins Media as a part of the company’s video team covering a variety of projects.

“We were thrilled to have Carol on campus to learn more about her road to success in the broadcasting industry,” said Doug Halvorsen, president and CEO of The Evergreens. “Her life story is fascinating, and she captivated the audience with her entertaining anecdotes. We thank her for taking time out of her busy schedule to speak to our guests, and she is welcomed back to our community any time.”
