Cinnaminson Cop Who Focused On Community Policing Retires

Patrolman Bryan Howard Norcross retired as of noon Monday, the Cinnaminson Police Department announced.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — A Cinnaminson police officer who served the community for 28 years retired on Monday, the police department announced.

Throughout his career, Bryan Howard Norcross’s passion was community policing, according to Cinnaminson police. Over the years he helped implement and further many programs to help the residents of the various communities where he worked.

Norcross began his service as the second junior firefighter with the Riverton Fire Company in 1992, according to the police department. He is still a member of that company.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aircrewman/Rescue Swimmer with the HS3 in Jacksonville, Fl. He deployed to the Persian Gulf aboard the USS John F. Kennedy during Operations Southern and North Watch.

Upon completing his enlistment in January 1999, he entered the Burlington County Police Academy and graduated with Class 76.

Norcross began his career with the Ocean City Police Department as a Seasonal Class II officer. He later moved on to a full-time position with the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. He then went on to serve with the Riverton Police Department, the Lumberton Township Police Department, before returning to the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department where he attained the rank of Undersheriff in 2014.

His final stop in his career was as a patrolman with the Cinnaminson Police Department.

“We thank him for his years of service and dedication to the residents of Burlington County and wish him continued success in retirement,” police said.
