Cinnaminson Girls Basketball Team Advances In Playoffs

The girls defeated Oakcrest Monday night. The boys fell to Lower Cape May, 57-53.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson High School girls basketball team advanced to the second round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 tournament with a 10-point win over Oakcrest at home Monday night, according to nj.com.

Fiona Flynnn led the way with 25 points as the seventh-seeded Pirates defeated the No. 10 Falcons, 50-40, in the first round of the tournament.

Maddie Ogden added seven points for Cinnaminson, which led 30-17 at halftime. Maddie Parrish had six points, and Anne O’Malley had five.

Cinnaminson will now hit the road for a meeting at No. 2 Haddonfield in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. Haddonfield defeated No. 15 Medford Tech, 68-33, in the first round.

In the other game, the fifth-seeded boys fell to No. 12 Lower Cape May, 57-53, in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 tournament, according to nj.com.

Craig Turner led Cinnaminson with 19 points, followed by Conor Bresnahan with 12 and Gunner Peterson with 10.

Patrick Holden had a game-high 26 points for Lower Cape May, who took the lead by outscoring the Pirates, 43-35, in the third quarter and holding on in the fourth, according to the report.

Lower Cape May will visit No. 4 Barnegat in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
