Cinnaminson High School Baseball Team Falls in First Round of Diamond Classic
The Pirates took an early lead, but fell to Lenape.

The Cinnaminson High School baseball team jumped out to an early three-run lead, but Lenape was able to erase that lead in the second inning en route to a 13-5 win in the first round of the 43rd annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic at Hammonton on Saturday, according to nj.com.
Cinnaminson went up 4-1 in the bottom of the first, but Lenape scored four times in the top of the second and never looked back.
Dominic Cicale hit a two-run homer for the Pirates. Mike McAndrews had a pair of RBIs for Cinnaminson, and Matt Overman was 2-for-3 with a double.

Mike Audet had a two-run double for Lenape. Tommy Gardiner had three RBIs, Ben Harris had two RBIs, and Mike Doulong was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three stolen bases.
Andrew Stagliano pitched three innings and picked up the win.

Lenape will face St. Joseph (Hammonton), a 9-7 winner over Mainland, in the quarterfinals next Saturday.
The game was a rematch of the April 15 game, won by Lenape, 14-1, in five innings.
A total of 16 teams from what is traditionally considered the South Jersey area compete in the annual tournament, which is considered the unofficial championship tournament of South Jersey.
Ten teams qualify because they were in first place in their division at the cutoff date, and six other teams qualify as wild-card teams.
At the cutoff date, Cinnaminson was in first place in the Burlington County Liberty Division, and Lenape was in first place in the Olympic Conference American Division.
As of Friday’s state playoff cutoff date, Cinnaminson was in sixth place in South Jersey Group 2 with 309 points, according to nj.com. Playoff brackets will be revealed on Thursday, May 19.
Following Saturday’s loss, Cinnaminson is 11-10.
