Cinnaminson High School Baseball Team To Open Diamond Classic Against Cherry Hill West

CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson High School baseball team begins its quest for the unofficial South Jersey championship this weekend. The Pirates face Cherry Hill West in the first round of the 44th annual Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic on Saturday afternoon, 1 p.m., at Deptford. The winner will play the winner of the game between Haddon Heights and Shawnee in the second round.

Cinnaminson qualified for the tournament as the first place team in the Burlington County League’s Liberty Division, according to nj.com. Cherry Hill West earned an at-large bid to the competition.

A total of 16 teams from what is traditionally considered the South Jersey area will compete in the tournament, with 10 teams qualifying because they were in first place in their division at the cutoff date and six other teams earning at-large bids.

Cinnaminson is 7-7 this season, according to nj.com. Cherry Hill West is 10-4.

The second round games are scheduled for Saturday, May 20, with the semifinals and final set for Sunday, May 21, according to the Courier Post.
