Cinnaminson High School Junior Wins South Jersey Pole Vault Title

Cinnaminson, NJ -- A Cinnaminson High School junior took home a sectional title and has eyes set on a state championship in track and field this weekend.

Christian Neuman won the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 pole vault championship with a vault of 11 feet, 9 inches at the sectional meet over the weekend, according to nj.com.

Teammate Patrick Bearint, also a junior, tied with two West Deptford athletes for second place with vaults of 11 feet, 6 inches.

The Pirates vaulters are among seven from Cinnaminson who move on to the state championship meet, set for this weekend at Northern Burlington.

The top six finishers in each event in the sectional round advanced to the state championships.

Junior Michael Ungvarsky qualified for states in three events.

He was second in the 3200 with a time of nine minutes, 49.78 seconds.

He also finished fourth in the 1600 with a time of 4:27.4.

Finally, he was part of the 4x800 meter relay team that finished second in 8:08.51. His teammates were sophomores Justin Arnold and Max Adams, and senior Tom Long.

Sophomore Kamron Kobolak was second in the shot put with a throw of 50-05.

Sophomore Luke Adams was third in the discus with a throw of 141-09.

Junior Steven Liu finished fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 44-07.

As a team, the Pirates finished fifth with 56 points. Haddonfield took home the state team championship with 102 points.
