Cinnaminson High School Softball Team Advances in Playoffs

The Pirates upset Spotswood in the first round of the playoffs.

The Cinnaminson High School softball team pulled off the first upset it will need to capture the Central Jersey Group II title this week.

Cinnaminson, seeded 13th in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II playoffs, upset No. 4 Spotswood, 7-2, in the first round, according to nj.com.

The Pirates will visit No. 5 Governor Livingston in the second round on May 20.

Shannon Profy picked up the win on the mound, striking out nine batters and walking three. She allowed seven hits and two runs.

Brooke Figiel was 3-for-4 with a home run. She is considered among the best players in the Burlington County Scholastic League by nj.com.
