Cinnaminson High School Teams Pick Up Wins on Opening Weekend for Winter Sports

Heavyweight wrestler Keith Swartley won an individual title, and the boys and girls basketball teams defeated Riverside.

Heavyweight Keith Swartley started his senior wrestling season the way he hopes it ends: on a championship note.

The Cinnaminson wrestler who won a Region 7 title last year captured the title at the Nottingham Tournament with a 2-1 win over Cherry Hill East’s Ryan Swenson on Saturday, according to nj.com.

As a team, Cinnaminson finished third with 121 points. Warren Hills won the team title with 165.5 points and Seneca was second with 161.5 points.

Three other Cinnaminson wrestlers advanced to the final in their respective weight classes, including Isaiah Ellis at 113, Ryan Teague at 138 and Shaun Davilla at 170.

The wrestling team wasn’t the only one that saw success on the opening weekend of the winter season.

Devon Taylor lead the Cinnaminson High School boys basketball team to a 77-53 win over Riverside with 18 points on Friday, according to nj.com.

Conor Bresnahan had 15 points, followed by Rich Rickus with 13 and Pat McCarthy with 12.

Fiona Flynn lead the Cinnaminson High School girls basketball team to a 56-27 win over Riverside with 17 points, according to nj.com.

Marisa DiLeo dropped 13, followed by 11 points from Anne O’Malley.
