Cinnaminson HS Alum Leads Rowan At Cross Country Championships

Madison Edwards is a freshman at Rowan, and was the team's highest finisher at the regional championships.

CINNAMINSON, NJ – A Cinnaminson High School alum was the highest finisher for the Rowan University women’s cross country team as it took 13th place at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships on Saturday at the Gloucester County DREAM Park, the university announced.

Madison Edwards, a freshman, the 6K course in 24 minutes, four seconds, and finished 53rd overall. Carley Tool (fr. Shamong, NJ/Seneca) came in 77th (24:27.4) and Dianne Ferraro (jr. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) was 85th (24:37.7).

Hannah Vendetta (sr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) took 98th (24:51.9) followed by Jennifer Klavens (sr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.), 106th (24:57.8). The Profs’ sixth and seventh runners were Lindsey Hofschneider (fr. Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson) and Alyssa Sanders (so. Pitman, NJ/Pitman). Hofschneider had a 141st place (25:32.6) while Sanders was 191st (26:29.9).

SUNY Geneseo claimed its fourth straight region team title and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was second. Both teams qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, WI. Geneseo’s Elise Ramirez was the individual champion with a winning time of 21:50.5.
