Cinnaminson May Pursue Different Route In Search For Public Works Superintendent
The township may use an outside company to help it find a new superintendent of Public Works, the Burlington County Times reports.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — After residents raised concerns about the possibility of Deputy Mayor William “Ben” Young possibly taking over the role of Superintendent of Public Works, Cinnaminson is considering hiring an outside firm to help the township fill the position, the Burlington County Times reports.
Township Administrator Mickey King recommended hiring First Jersey Municipal Assistance LLC, out of Lumberton, to take over the search, according to the report.
Cinnaminson Committee is in agreement about the need to hire an outside firm, but Committeeman Don Brauckman asked if the township should solicit proposals from other companies. Mayor Anthony Minniti said a broad search might not be appropriate, but said committee members could make suggestions.

Cinnaminson Committeeman John McCarthy said eight people have so far applied for the job, but five of them didn’t provide salary or benefit requirements.
Young is one of the people under consideration for the job. Residents previously expressed concern that he would see a dramatic increase in his pension if he did get the job. Young said the increase would only go from $2,600 a year to about $15,000 to $20,000, and defenders have said they see no reason Young shouldn’t get more with the amount of experience he has managing various aspects of the town.

Young said he ran for committee in 2005 in order to “clean up Public Works.”
He is not running for re-election this year. Instead, June Neuman will join Minniti in a Republican Primary race against Ernie McGill and Ryan Horner.
