CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Special Resources Officers (SROs) in Cinnaminson congratulated graduating high school seniors in a letter posted on the police department’s Facebook page this week.

“As we continued to walk through the emptied halls, our minds quickly recall all the smiling faces, Tik Tok dances, hugs and countless memories,” the SROs said in the letter. “We thank you for letting us into your schools, but most importantly to us, into your lives and hearts. This is a badge of honor we will wear proudly.”

Cinnaminson schools, and all schools across the state, have been closed since March to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“We know this is not the ending to your high school career that anyone could have imagined,” the SROs wrote. “We believe that this is your generation’s call to action. Every so often, something happens in the world, and it takes a special generation to answer the call, to be the solution. There’s not a single doubt in my mind that you are all more than capable of using these troubling times to rise to the occasion. Some of the most brilliant minds and caring souls walked through the halls of CHS. Find the cure, find the light and a way to put an end to the ugliness in the world. Class of 2020, we believe that you will be the heroes that the world needs. So again, congratulations, pick your head up and get to work; we need you.”
