The Cinnaminson Police Department provided tips on how to report emergencies and non-emergencies on its Facebook page.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — Cinnaminson police are advising residents on how to report emergencies to the police department. On Tuesday, July 30, the Cinnaminson Police Department posted the following on its Facebook page:
To report emergencies to the Cinnaminson Police Department: If you are a victim of a crime or witness possible criminal activity, you should report the incident to local law enforcement. Emergencies should be reported by calling 911. These include crimes which are in progress or about to happen, as well as crimes which have resulted in serious personal injury, property damage, or property loss. They also include situations in which the suspect may still be at the scene and certain suspicious activities. By calling 911, you will be linked to the appropriate police personnel as well as firefighting, medical, and ambulance services. When reporting an emergency, be prepared to give an accurate description of what your emergency is and your location, especially if you are calling from a mobile cellular phone.
To report non-emergencies to the Cinnaminson Police Department: Generally, you can file a police report by visiting the police station or by calling the non-emergency number. The Cinnaminson Police Department’s non-emergency number is 856- 829-6666. Crimes and suspicious activities which fall into this category are: (a) those which do not involve serious personal injury, property damage, or property loss; (b) those in which there is no possibility that the suspect is still at the scene or is likely to return to the scene; and (c) those for which an immediate response is not needed. If there is any doubt as to whether the situation is an emergency, it is always better to be on the safe side and call 911.
