Cinnaminson Prepares For Winter Storm

CINNAMINSON, NJ - Cinnaminson is preparing for a wintry mix set to hit the region Sunday night. The region is bracing for a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain overnight with temperatures in the low 30s.

A winter weather mix is expected to move through the area between 5 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday, delivering periods of moderate snow that will later turn into a mix of snow, sleet and rain as temperatures rise. Snowfall will be steady at first and most of the accumulation is expected within the four hours.

Two to four inches of snow is possible over the duration of the storm. The expectation is for most of the precipitation to end between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday morning.

The Department of Public Works is monitoring the weather and is urging all parked vehicles to be moved before the snow arrives to assist them while plowing. Vehicles that are causing a hazard and will restrict plowing will be towed if needed.

A Code Blue Weather Emergency remains in effect until 7 a.m. on Monday, March 4. County officials will assess weather conditions again on Monday to determine if additional precautions are needed.

A Code Blue declaration is made in Burlington County when winter weather conditions pose a threat of serious harm to individuals without shelter. When a Code Blue is enacted it provides for short-term emergency shelters to those in need.

Individuals in need of shelter, or for more information about Code Blue, can call 2-1-1. Callers will be prompted to press 2-1 for homeless individuals, then asked for the first three letters of their county or county code. For Burlington County, please press 2-8-7.

During a Code Blue declaration, residents are encouraged to stay indoors in heated areas. Caution should also be taken with pets during freezing temperatures.
