Cinnaminson Republican Club Offers Free Rides to the Polls on Election Day

Election Day is Nov. 4.

The Cinnaminson Republican Club is offering residents free rides to the polls on Election Day.

“We offer door-to-door service with a smile all day long for any voter who’d like a ride,” Cinnaminson Republican Club President Sandy Iaquinto said in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon. “It’s a longstanding practice we’re proud to continue this year. We’ve lined up volunteer drivers who will serve as your personal chauffeur.”

Cinnaminson Mayor Anthony Minniti and Committee Member William “Ben” Young are running unopposed in the municipal elections on Nov. 4.

However, Cinnaminson voters will still head to the polls to vote in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Democrat Cory Booker and Republican challenger Jeff Bell.

Democrat Aimee Belgard and Republican Tom MacArthur are running for the Third Congressional District seat being vacated by Jon Runyan.

County freeholder and Board of Education seats are also up for grabs, and there are two ballot questions. The first question concerns pretrial detention for certain criminal defendants, and the other would dedicate six percent of corporate business tax revenues to open space preservation.

“Some of the polling places can be a hike,” Iaquinto said. “Each year there are quite a few residents who don’t have access to a car. Others may have difficulty because of age or disability. Whatever the reason we’re happy to help fill the void.

“We strongly encourage all residents to cast their ballots. This service helps remove one of the obstacles.”

Residents interested in using the service should telephone the “Free Rides to the Polls” hotline at 856-733-0830. Alternatively they can e-mail requests to CinnaGOP@gmail.com.

Iaquinto recommends voters schedule their pick-up times in advance, but added that last minute requests to the hotline on Election Day are always honored.

Should anyone realize they will be out of town on November 4, Iaquinto urges voting through the mail.

“Voting by mail is quick and easy,” Iaquinto emphasized. “You can call our hotline number and request a Vote-by-Mail application. On that same day we’ll deliver one to your door.”
