Cinnaminson Residents Can Report Police Bias Incidents To Chief
Cinnaminson residents who feel they have been treated unfairly by local officers can report the incidents directly to Chief Calabrese.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — The Cinnaminson Police Department is encouraging anyone who feels they have been treated unfairly by an officer in their department to contact Chief Richard Calabrese directly.
The police department made the appeal Tuesday night in the aftermath of the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minnesota.
“The Cinnaminson Township Police Department is committed to ensuring that all members of our department provide fair treatment and justice to all citizens,” the police department said in a social media post. “Anyone who believes they have been victimized by a member of the Cinnaminson Township Police Department as a result of bias or other improper behavior is encouraged to take the matter up directly with the Chief of Police, so their complaint can be thoroughly investigated.”

Floyd, a black man, was killed in a police-involved incident in Minnesota last week. He was handcuffed and lying face down on a Minneapolis street Monday when officer Derek Chauvin kept his knee on Floyd's neck for 8 minutes, 46 seconds. Floyd became unresponsive after 2 minutes, 53 seconds, according to the criminal complaint.
Chauvin was charged Friday with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. In the wake of Floyd's death, protests against racism and police brutality have sparked around the world.
