Cinnaminson Seventh Graders Win Marlton Holiday Basketball Tournament
Cinnaminson defeated Haverford, PA, 54-52, in the final.

The Cinnaminson boys seventh grade travel basketball team came out on top in the Marlton Chiefs Holiday Classic Tournament’s seventh grade A-division with a 54-52 victory over Haverford, PA on New Year’s Eve.
Eric Sabato and Jake Wilmer each scored 18 points to lead the way. Aiden Nesemeier, Eric Gallagher, and Christian Gee also scored six points each in a battle in which neither side saw a lead greater than 2 or 4 points throughout.
Cinnaminson advanced to the final with wins over Marlton, Seneca and Haverford in pool play.

Aiden Nesemeier scored 18 points and Eric Gallagher scored 17 points in a 67-51 win over the Marlton Chiefs on their home court.
Eric Sabato dropped 17 points in a 60-42 win over Seneca. Jake Wilmer and Aiden Nesemeier contributed 13 and 12 points each.

The Pirates edged Haverford, 55-51, in the final pool play game.
Despite building a 29-14 lead at halftime, Haverford came storming back to take a three-point lead with three minutes to go in the contest.
However, a couple of key baskets and clutch free throws by Eric Gallagher in the last minute secured the victory and top seed for the championship game.
Gallahger finished the game with 14 points, while Eric Sabato led the team in scoring with 23 points. Nesemeier and Wilmer also finished the game with 9 points each.
Other members contributing to the team’s success thus far are: Danny Campbell, Lucas Burns, Justin Yansick, Aleks Czjeka, Joe Turankus, Anthony Amendolia, and Justyn Caccese.
This is the second consecutive year that this group of boys took their particular pool’s championship in this holiday tournament.
The team has won six games in a row and now has an overall record of 7-2 as it attempts to repeat as its grade’s South Jersey Basketball League champions.

* Marlton on Jan. 16 at Cinnaminson Middle School at 8:45 p.m.;
* Moorestown on Jan. 18 at Moorestown High School at 4:30 p.m.;
* Washington Township on Jan. 23 at Cinnaminson Middle School at 8:45 p.m.;
* Winslow on Jan. 28 at Cinnaminson High School at 8:30 p.m.; and
* Cherry Hill on Jan. 30 at Cinnaminson Middle School at 8:45 p.m.
