Cinnaminson Teen Charged After Graffiti Vandalism: Police
The 14-year-old faces criminal mischief charges after causing $2,000 in damage at a sports complex and park in Maple Shade, said police.
MAPLE SHADE, NJ — Police charged a 14-year-old Cinnaminson boy after they say he vandalized a township sports complex in Maple Shade with spray-painted graffiti.
Officials in Maple Shade did not identify the boy, whom they charged with three counts of third-degree criminal mischief.
The investigation began Feb. 7, when Maple Shade officers went to the Woodlawn Field sports complex. They were responding to a report of graffiti being spray-painted on one of the clubhouses there, police said.

There was also graffiti at Collins Lane Park with the same markings, police said. Removing it will cost $2,000, officials said.

Police searched the defendant's home on Feb. 15 and found a backpack he was seen wearing on the night of the vandalism, "still containing several bottles of spray paint." They also found a bike that the suspect was seen riding on surveillance footage, Maple Shade police said.
The teen was released, officials said, pending hearings in Burlington County Family Court.
