Cinnaminson Teenager Who Was Shot and Killed in Pennsylvania Allegedly Stole 81 Handguns

Joshua Malave allegedly robbed a gun shop and was heavily armed when he encountered police in a soybean field in Lebanon County.

A Cinnaminson teenager who was shot and killed in Lebanon County, PA, allegedly stole 81 handguns from the Horseshoe Pike Gun Shop in Campbelltown before his encounter with police on Monday, the Lebanon Daily News reports.

Joshua Malave, 18, allegedly filled up rifle bags with handguns and carried them out of the store. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms believes it has accounted for all handguns reported stolen, according to the report.

It remains unknown which officer shot Malave, how many times he was shot, if he was acting alone or why he was in the area, according to the report.

Malave was identified as the victim on Wednesday.

Police responded to the scene after Malave allegedly set off an alarm at the gun shop around 6 a.m., when the business was closed. Malave was shot and killed in a soybean field across the street from the gun shop.

Despite reports that Malave was heavily armed, no officers were injured during the shooting.

Malave graduated from Cinnaminson High School in June and worked at ShopRite on Route 130, according to the Burlington County Times.

He and three other teenagers were arrested in July after gunshots were reported at Lake Lonnie in Delran, according to the report.
