Cinnaminson Wrestlers Set for Region 7 Tournament

Three wrestlers advanced through the first round, making a total of eight who will compete Friday night, according to nj.com.

All eight Cinnaminson High School wrestlers who advanced during the District 26 tournament will compete in the quarterfinals of the Region 7 tournament Friday night following three wins in the pre-quarterfinals.

Anthony Pencock (138), Shaun Davila (170) and Tom Halecki (220) each advanced through the first round, held Wednesday night at Robbinsville High School, according to nj.com.

They join district champions Isaiah Ellis (113), Ryan Teague (126), Pat Morton (160), Zack Sireci (182) and Keith Swartley (heavyweight), each of whom begins wrestling during the quarterfinals Friday night by virtue of winning a district title.

Pencock advanced with an 11-8 win over Haddon Heights’ Richie Westhoven. He will now face third-seeded Shawn Clark of Collingswood in the quarterfinals.

Davila moved on following a major decision win over Haddonfield’s Brad Thompson. He will face Hamilton West’s third-seeded Chris Stout in the quarterfinals.

Halecki advanced with a pinfall victory over Trenton Central’s Tahir Henry. He wrestled in the first round as a No. 3 seed, and will face No. 6 Michael Kringler, of Cherokee, in the quarterfinals.

Ellis is the No. 5 seed at 113, and faces No. 4 Christopher Bollentino, of Haddonfield, in the quarterfinals.

Teague is No. 3 at 126, and faces No. 6 Jarret Ziegler, of Camden Catholic, in the quarterfinals.

Morton is No. 4 at 160, and faces No. 5 Christopher Steward, of Robbinsville, in the quarterfinals.

Sirecki is No. 4 at 182, and faces No. 5 Zach Turner, of Allentown, in the quarterfinals.

Swartley is No. 2 at heavyweight, and faces No. 10 Zach Moore, of Moorestown, in the quarterfinals.
