Cinnaminson Wrestling Team Moves to 18-0 With Win Over Pennsauken

The Cinnaminson High School wrestling team took advantage of three pins to defeat Pennsauken and remain undefeated on Saturday, according to nj.com.

Kevin Schoch pinned Marquis Williams in three minutes, 15 seconds to help the Pirates to a 39-21 win. Cinnaminson also saw pins from Ethan Schuler (132, 2:53 over Mark Farmer) and heavyweight Keith Swartley (1:19 over Hector Torres).

Cinnaminson saw major decisions from Isaiah Elias (12-1 at 113), Ryan Teague (8-0 at 126) and Pat Morton (8-0 at 160).

Cinnaminson also earned decisions from Anthony Pencock (138), Shaun Davila (170) and Zack Sireci (182).

Cinnaminson improved to 18-0, with the cutoff date and seeding for the playoffs scheduled this week.

On Friday, the state decided to stick with the traditional process for seeding teams for the tournament, which is based on strength of schedule, according to nj.com. It had been considering a new format that didn’t rely as heavily on strength of schedule, and in some cases, rewarded a weaker one. Coaches spoke out against the new system, and it was axed.
