Cinnaminson High School senior Ryan Addlesberger struggled with the decision to give up wrestling so he could focus on track and field, but he ultimately decided to give up the sport he spent the first three winters of his high school career focusing on, according to the Burlington County Times.
A national championship in the spring helped him make up his mind, and a state title in the shot put in his first winter outing showed he made the right decision.
It was the first indoor shot put state title in school history, according to the report.

The 5’11” 225-pound athlete won the title despite a preseason injury that limited the amount of preparation he was able to put in for his first full winter, according to the report.
Addlesberger spent his first three winters wrestling before making the transition to track and field in the spring. This season affords him the opportunity to make a seamless transition from one season to the next.
