Collingswood Football Team Downs Cinnaminson For Second Time, Advances In Playoffs

Collingswood won, 24-22, in the first round on Friday night.

Collingswood, NJ -- A safety proved to be the difference as the fourth-seeded Collingswood High School football team defeated No. 5 Cinnaminson for the second time this season.

The Panthers won, 24-22, in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs on Friday night, according to nj.com.

The safety put Collingswood on the board first, in the first quarter, as the Panthers went on to build a 24-6 lead.

Abdul Bangura was a big part of building that lead, with 96-yard kickoff return for a score and a 73-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Jovon Allie also scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.

Kevin Schoch had a 5-yard touchdown run for Cinnaminson, which mounted its comeback in the second half.
Shaun Davilla threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Sean Harris, and Kai Leibfried recovered a Collingswood fumble and found the end zone for a score.

Collingswood’s defense allowed no more, and the Panthers went on to celebrate the win. It was the Panthers’ second win over Cinnaminson, following its 12-8 win on Oct. 14.

Collingswood will visit No. 1 West Deptford in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 18. The championship game is scheduled for Dec. 2.

Cinnaminson is 6-3, and hosts rival Delran in the season finale on Wednesday night, Nov. 23, 7 p.m.
