Controversial Burger King Proposal Goes Back Before Cinnaminson Planning Board Tuesday Night

The Burger King would be built in a residential area. The planning board meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.

Cinnaminson, NJ -- A controversial project to build a Burger King in a residential area will go for final approval before the Planning Board Tuesday night, 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building.

The site was a bank location for more than three decades, and is being sold by Colonial Bank, according to a Letter to the Editor previously posted on Patch.

Burger King is looking to change the use for the building altogether.

The applicant is appearing before the Planning Board for numerous variances, including lot width, residential setbacks, buffer requirements and other issues, according to the Burlington County Times.

Detailed plans for the project are available at the municipal building.

The plan was considered for preliminary approval during a meeting last month, and Tuesday’s meeting is for preliminary and final approvals.

Resident Anthony Balboni organized an effort to oppose the project in the days leading up to the meeting.
Residents are concerned about quality of life, safety, increased traffic, loitering and home values.

A traffic study conducted by Shropshire Associates LLC says there will be “minimal impact” on the road from construction, and the biggest difference in traffic would come on Saturday, according to the newspaper account.

The proposed setback is 14.2 feet, and municipal code requires setbacks to be 40 feet, according to the report.
