Converted Receiver Shines at Quarterback in Cinnaminson Football Team's Win

The defense pitched a shutout in a 27-0 win over Robbinsville Friday night.

Behind what the Burlington County Times describes as a “perfect opening act for quarterback Shaun Davilla” and a defensive shutout, the Cinnaminson High School football team rolled to a 27-0 win over Robbinsville in the season opener for both West Jersey Football League Liberty Division teams Friday night.

Davila threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Devon Taylor and rushed 12 yards for a score. He also scored on a 65-yard punt return. Naudica Flagg capped the scoring with a 12-yard TD run.

The junior wide receiver played quarterback for the first time since he played Pee Wee football, and was taking over for Nick Thevanayagam. He was also trying to help the Pirates compensate for the loss of a senior-laden team that went 9-2 last year.
