Convicted Sex Offender Shared Child Porn In BurlCo: Prosecutor
He was convicted of the same offenses a few years ago and failed to register as a sex offender when he was released, officials said.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Burlington County man who was previously convicted of sex offenses was found last month with child pornography, authorities said Friday.
Investigators found that James Hunt, 25, of Burlington Township, was sharing child pornography on a messaging app, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. He was arrested Jan. 24 after authorities executed a search warrant at his home.
Hunt was charged with several child pornography offenses, including distribution (second-degree), intent to distribute (second-degree) and possession (third-degree). He was also charged with third-degree hindering apprehension and failing to register as a sex offender.

Hunt was also charged with distributing and possessing child pornography a few years ago. Court records show he took a plea deal in 2021, admitting to possession.

In February 2022, he was sentenced to three years in the Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a state correctional facility for inmates considered to be repetitive and compulsive sex offenders. It wasn't immediately clear when he was released.
Investigation into the new allegations began when the prosecutor's office received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about Hunt. During the search of Hunt's home, authorities seized multiple electronic devices.
Prosecutors will present the case to a grand jury for possible indictment.
