Death Threats Reportedly Made to Burlington County Child Welfare Office

Eight offices in New Jersey answered calls from anonymous callers threatening to kill, report says.

A total of eight child welfare offices across New Jersey received death threats by phone Wednesday from anonymous callers.

According to nj.com, Department of Children and Families offices in Randolph, Burlington, Bergen South, Cape May, Camden Central, Camden North, West Middlesex, and Voorhees were targeted by the calls Wednesday.

Multiple calls and emails from Patch to the department have not been returned.

Ernest Landante, spokesperson for the Department of Children and Families, told nj.com that security had been stepped up at all the named locations and there were no incidents reported.

The calls are currently under investigation, the report said.
